Program Year 2027 Request for Applications, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

Cherokee County is accepting Program Year [PY] 2027 applications for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.
Applications are available for public facility projects and public services. Instructions for developing proposals are included in the application packet, which will be available beginning Monday, April 27, 2026, on the Cherokee County website at www.cherokeecountyga.gov/CDBG or upon request, at the Cherokee County CDBG Program Office – 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton GA 30114.
Each applicant must attend one of the MANDATORY application preparation workshops. They will be held on Friday May 8, 2026, from 9:00 am -11:00 am and Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 1:30 pm-3:30 pm at 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton GA 30114-Salacoa Room. Participants will be given an opportunity to provide input for the community needs assessment at the workshop. The community needs assessments are also available on the County’s website, at the CDBG Department page (www.cherokeecountyga.gov/CDBG).
At least 70% of the persons served with CDBG assisted projects must be low to moderate income (LMI) as required by CDBG regulations. Cherokee County provides assistance to government agencies and non-profit organizations. All non-profit agencies must have proof of current 501(c)(3) status.

Applications must be dropped off or mailed and received at Cherokee County CDBG Office on or before Monday, June 29, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. The mailing address is the same as the physical address of the CDBG Program Office: 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton, GA 30114. LATE PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
