Public Notice Property Review Activities
PUBLIC NOTICE
PROPERTY REVIEW ACTIVITIES
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 48-5-264.1
Notice is hereby given to the property owners and taxpayers of Cherokee County that representatives of the Cherokee County Tax Assessor's Office will be conducting ongoing field reviews and property inspections throughout the county as part of the continuous appraisal and assessment process.
When appropriate, signage will be placed in areas where appraisal review activities are being conducted. During these reviews, authorized appraisers may visit properties, knock on doors, or ring doorbells to speak with property owners or occupants. Appraisers will ask relevant questions regarding the property's condition, verify public record information, and take necessary measurements of structures located on the premises.
All appraisers are required to display official Cherokee County photo identification and will be operating clearly marked county vehicles bearing government license plates. Appraisers are trained to conduct themselves in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner. Your cooperation and patience during this process are greatly appreciated.
Please note that any formal communication initiated by a taxpayer through legally recognized means-such as a property tax return, appeal, or similar filing—constitutes authorization for an appraiser to visit and inspect the property as part of the review process.
For additional information or questions, please contact the Cherokee County Tax Assessor's Office at (678) 493-6120.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
