COURTROOM ASSIGNMENTS

Subject: Implementation of Alphabetic Assignment System

Please be advised that the Solicitor-General's Office has implemented an alphabetic assignment system for all three courtrooms. Kindly take note of the following important points:

This system applies only to new cases moving forward. Team leads will not reassign any pre-existing cases.
The alphabetic system is intended to serve as a general rule of thumb. However, exceptions may occur in cases involving co-defendants, novel or complex legal issues, or all VH2 classifications.
This system will apply only to cases post-arraignment.
