What DAC Offers
Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit Drug Accountablity Court is an 18-24 month program. Participants must complete five phases of treatment in order to graduate.
- Treatment
- DAC is a treatment court. We provide in-house treatment including relapse prevention, moral recognition therapy, cognitive behavior intervention, and other evidence-based, best practice treatment modalities.
- Support
- DAC provides case management services including connecting with outside resources, budgeting, job searching, and help obtaining vital documents. Eligible participants can receive assistance with medical care, housing, and transportation.
- Drug Tests
- Random drug tests are administered for the entire duration of the participant's time in DAC. Most tests are given at the Drug Lab located in the Historic Courthouse which is next door to the Justice Center.
- Court Sessions
- The participant's relationship with the team, especially the Judge, is a key part of treatment. The team reviews each participant's progress and meets with them during regular courtroom sessions to reward progress and monitor compliance.
- Fees
- There is a $215 per month participant fee during the DAC program. In addition to the participant fee, a monitoring fee is also assessed at an amount that varies based on the type of monitoring required. These fees are necessary in order to support the cost of the services provided by DAC.
