
(JULY 22, 2026) -- Cherokee County has instituted a 30-day moratorium on data centers with the intention of extending it through early 2027.
The County currently does not have an ordinance addressing the data center use, and the moratorium will give the Community Development Agency staff time to research and work with the legal department to create an ordinance for that use.
